About
Byzantines dot Net
This site was started and is currently run by a group of
laity scattered throughout the United States. The site is unofficial, but
accurately represents the Byzantine Catholic Church in communion with the Pope
of Rome.
Brief History
Greg Bronson, the sites founder, was the webmaster of St.
Anne's Byzantine Catholic Church. Fr. Edmund Idranyi (of St.
Anne's) encouraged his work on their site. As it developed and
continued to grow in popularity, Greg decided to create a general interest
Byzantine Catholic site. After consulting, Edward Havrilla, another
Byzantine Webmaster, the site became a reality. Since its existence,
it has grown into one of the best resources on the internet for Byzantine
Catholics. Currently, five people help contribute to the sites
varying content, including a Byzantine Priest from Canada.
Mission Statement
To be an online resource for Byzantine Catholics, Orthodox, Roman
Catholics, and others who are interested in Eastern Christianity and its
traditions, and ultimately to bring others into a more intimate
relationship with our Triune God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
