Genealogy Research

Assistance with genealogy for person of Ruthenian (Carpatho-Rusyn) ancestry and those of the Byzantine Catholic/Orthodox faiths who came from the former Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Ancient ChurchAnyone in the process of compiling their family histories (or who may just be starting out) are welcome to email me if you are researching the above. I have been in the process of researching my family (and others) for the last ten years and my areas of interest are the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, especially those of Carpatho-Rusyn (Ruthenian) heritage who were either Greek/Byzantine Catholic or Orthodox. I am willing to assist anyone to try and help find their villages of origin, assist with translations of church ledger documents to the best of my ability (Latin, Hungarian and those in Cyrillic), give historical reference, information on where to find various types of records (Federal census, shipping manifests, citizenship applications) and also offer sites to further help your genealogy searches in these areas. These areas of research are the present day areas of Southern Poland, Slovakia and the boarder areas of Ukraine. Many Greek Catholics came from Hills and a Villagethese areas and were the founders of all of the Greek Catholic churches in America today.

Please Note: I am not a professional genealogist and do not receive payment paid for this service. I will offer whatever I have knowledge of or have on my data bases for informational and non-professional purposes only and cannot guarantee that I will be successful (depending upon the information offered) in assisting everyone all the time. I offer this service to Byzantines.net to assist those families were of the Greek Catholic and Orthodox faiths and came from the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, were Ruthenian, and which made up the majority of members of Kids Working in a Small Villagethe former Greek Catholic church in America from 1885 to 1930. My research is mostly directed, but not limited to, the above discussed heritage and religions.
