The Abbot's Page
    Byzantine cross

We are adding this page to our website in order to publish items we cannot fit into our newsletter. Mostly it will consist of the texts of some of my homilies. I hope in this way to be able to reach a larger audience than the 40-50 that might be present here on a given Sunday or feast. I pray that the Holy Spirit will use these words - or go completely beyond them, if that works better! - to help you come closer to an understanding and experience of the divine mysteries and how you can live your life in Christ more fruitfully.

The homilies have been slightly edited for clarity, but I have not attempted to make literary pieces out of them. This is so you can get something of the "feel" of the original delivery (and so I don't have to spend a lot of time rewriting them!). For better or worse, I don't always speak the way I write. Lately, however, I have been writing my homilies in advance, since I usually publish them on my blog as well. There is little time and a lot of work, so I have to get as much mileage as possible from whatever I produce! Hopefully whatever the homilies may lose in spontaneity they will gain in clarity and coherence.
