As many of you may or may not know, St. Anne's is the only Byzantine Rite Church in a 200 mile radius. Our church serves several cities, two counties, and an potential population of over 150,000 people, on the central coast of California. Currently, we have 90 individuals who have made St. Anne's their parish home, with an average Sunday attendance of about 65 people. We are continuing to grow slowly, but steadily. These dedicated few, over the last ten years, have given of themselves, towards the support of St. Anne's in order to keep the church available to preach the Gospel of Good news to this area.
In order to continue fulfilling the Great Commission Jesus gave us, St. Anne's sought to buy a church facility that would meet our parish needs. About 5 years ago, we secured the purchase of a church building in San Luis Obispo. Since then, we have been enjoying the opportunities that come with our own facility. (Prior to this we had been meeting in a small side room, at the San Luis Obispo Historic Mission Church.) We have also had to tighten our belts in order to afford are now large mortgage. By a small miracle of God, we have been able to meet our financial obligations.
In these tough times, financially for our parish, we are looking for the support of not only our parishioners, but also of our relatives, friends, benefactors, and all you wonderful internet surfers out there, who recognize this assistance as a missionary and evangelizing effort in spreading Christ's Gospel to all people.
